Before I came to Poland, I had known only American donuts in their characteristic form and with multi-coloured toppings. They are popular in Japan. I ate my first Polish donut in the Kajima Poland office in Warsaw on Fat Thursday 2020 (the donuts unexpectedly appeared in our company kitchen in a huge quantity.) Since it had no hole in the centre, I did not realise it was also a donut.
